Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
Spring is my
favorite season!
Tulips are my favorite flower!
I love spring because it reminds me that new life is springing forth. Fresh buds on flowers and trees are showing off their beauty. Baby animals are being born.
For me it is a time of child-like wonder.
Have you ever heard the phrase spring chicken? The origin of the phrase comes the early 1700s. Farmers found that chickens born in the spring brought better prices than 'old' ones that had gone through the winter.
What is your favorite season?
Depending on where you live you may have four seasons of winter, spring, summer, and fall. Everyone has their favorite season. Some may even like all seasons for different reasons. I love the fall and spring. I look at spring as a time of new life and growth. But for fall I like to think of it as a season to take a breath. I like to breathe in the cool air and refresh my soul from the hot summer days.
Exodus 34:21 says, “Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:”
Each season has its own flavor. Winter brings bitter cold and sometimes snow. Spring provides the fragrance of flowers and grass bursting through the dirt. Summer we often smell someone grilling their favorite meat and at times it seems like we can taste it. Fall brings the smell of wet leaves and we see fresh apples hanging from trees and pumpkins basking in the fields waiting to be gathered.
Our attitudes at times can be like the seasons. They change based on the current events or situations in our lives. At times we might be cold and short with people when we speak. Other times we may be warm and full of life.
What if we checked the temperature of our attitudes before we speak?
We may need to take some time to rest and wrap a warm blanket around our hearts to soften it.
Do you anticipate fun activities of the season, or do you dread them?
Life is short and each year of our life changes into a new season. Each of us goes through some type of season in our lives. We have the days of being a teen, college student, marriage, children, then empty nest, and grandchildren.
Season your attitude with a touch of joy and push through the temperature changes that come at you from all directions. Anticipate and look for joy during each season of the year and your life.
Journal: What is your favorite season? What season or stage of life are you in? What has been a tough season in your lifetime?
I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the She Writes and Speaks - Proclaim Conference in North Carolina.
I was asked to speak about Stand Out Videos. I discovered I enjoyed sharing with authors and speakers how to create and do videos.
I am working on four new workshops to encourage and inspire new authors and speakers. One new workshop will be called Win With Videos.
Be on the look out for more workshops to come.
I was able to hear Susie McEntire speak and sing at the Christian Product Expo.
Look out for Joy!
